European Grand Prix 2017

Finland became the 15th host nation of an EGP tournament with a new stage on the island of Åland added to the 2017 EGP season making it an eight tournament circuit.

The final stage in Paris was once again an exciting season finale as German champion Matthias Berg and the defending EGP champion Takuji Kashiwabara were on exactly the same amount of points, so whoever would finish higher in the standings in Paris would claim the EGP title.

At the end of the first day Takuji was just half a point ahead of Matthias so it was all to play for in the last 4 rounds on the Sunday. On the final day Takuji managed to stay ahead of Matthias, taking the second spot behind Takeshi Murakami of Japan.

Takuji went on to lose the final to Takeshi but still won his 11th EGP title.
