room reservations.

In addition to the cash prizes, Trophies will be awarded to the First through Fourth
Place Winners and Team Trophies will go to each member of the winning country.
The Champion will have his or her name permanently inscribed on the rotating
Othello Trophy, alongside the previous 28 World Othello Champs.

Benkt Steentoft, will direct the 29th World Othello Championship in Reykjavik.
Benkt has played Othello since 1986, and represented Sweden in the 2001 WOC in New
York. He was Tournament Director for the 27th World Othello Championship in
Stockholm. He's devoted himself to spreading Othello to new players, and he spends a
great deal of time doing so.

In addition to Othello, he works as a personal assistant. Benkt enjoys good food
(especially gourmet cheeses), games, poetry, Psychobilly music, as well as spending time
with his family and friends. He lives in a rather large family of seven, which consists of 5
children besides Benkt and his girlfriend. The newest member, a baby girl, was born in
January 2005 and is the first child he and his girlfriend have in common.
Benkt will be assisted by Henry Aspenryd who is 34 years old and works as a systems
architect. Henry has played Othello actively for two and a half years, and was a table
referee at the 2003 and 2004 WOCs. He was also the technical assistant at the 2005
European Grand Priz and Tournament Director at a couple of Swedish tournaments. His
highest achievement is 4th place at the 2004 Stockholm EGP.
If you plan on attending the 29th World Othello Championship as a player or a table
referee, please email Benkt Steentoft.
