The venue for the WOC will be The Idea Hotel Roma in Rome, Italy.

The Tournament will be sponsored by Anjar Co., Mattel Inc. and MegaHouse Corp., and our hosts will be the Italian Othello Federation.

The Tournament Directors will be Carlo Alami and Donato Barnaba, and will be assisted by Benkt Steentoft and Emmanuel Lazard.

The Idea Hotel Roma is set in a business and residential area is well suited for the WOC. There is a free shuttle to the Ponte Mammolo Metro Station. We will enjoy the hotel's conference facilities for the actual tournament play. For those interested in staying at this hotel, we have reserved a block of rooms at discounted prices. In addition to the cash prizes, trophies will be awarded to the First through Fourth Place Winners, and team trophies will go to each member of the winning country. The Champion will have his or her name permanently inscribed on the rotating Othello Trophy, alongside the previous 33 World Othello Champions.

The Welcome Reception will be held at the Idea Hotel Roma on Wednesday, November 10th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In keeping with tradition, first round pairings will be drawn at the Reception. Lunch will be served at the Tournament site for all players and official guests on Thursday, November 11 and Friday, November 12, and on Saturday, December 13 for the finalists and working staff.
