35 th World Othello Championship

We are pleased to announce that the 35 th Annual World Othello Championship
will be held in the New York area, November 2 - 5, 2011. The venue will be the
Hilton Hotel, at Newark International Airport, 1170 Spring Street, Elizabeth -
(908) 351-3900.
The tournament will be sponsored by Anjar Co., Mattel and MegaHouse Corporation,
and our hosts will be the U.S. Othello Association. The Tournament Directors will be
David Parson, Benkt Steentoft and Emmanuel Lazard.
The Hilton Hotel, Newark Airport is located close to Newark Airport, with free
shuttle service to the hotel. Transportation to New York City is available by Shuttle to
the Airport, and NJ transit train (15 minutes) to Manhattan.
We will enjoy the Conference facilities at the Newark Hilton for the actual tournament

For those interested in staying at hotel, we have reserved a block of rooms at
discounted prices at hotel Hilton Hotel, Newark Airport. Hotel Rates: A discounted
rate of $99 is being held through October 12 th . Refer to the World Othello
Championship Tournament when making room reservations.
In addition to the cash prizes, trophies will be awarded to the First through Fourth
Place Winners and Team Trophies will go to each member of the winning country.
The Champion will have his or her name permanently inscribed on the rotating
Othello Trophy, alongside the previous 34 World Othello Champions.
The Welcome Reception will be held at the Hilton Hotel, on Wednesday, November
2nd from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In keeping with tradition, first round pairings will be
drawn at the Reception.
Lunch will be served at the Tournament Site for all players and official guests on
Thursday, November 3 and Friday, November 4, and on Saturday, November 5 for
the finalists and working staff.
