We are pleased to announce that the 36th World Othello Championship will be held in Leeuwaren, the Netherlands, November 7 - 10, 2012. The venue will be the Eden Oranje Hotel, Stationsweg 4, 8911 AG Leeuwarden. Tel.: +31(0)58-2126241.
The tournament will be arranged by World Othello Federation, and our hosts will be the Dutch Othello Federation. The Tournament Directors will be Marcel Sneek and Jan de Graaf. A brief bio of the Tournament Directors is provided below.
The Eden Oranje Hotel is located very close to Leeuwarden Central Train Station. Various travel options will be provided on the WOC 2012 homepage.

In addition to the cash prizes, trophies will be awarded to the First through Fourth Place Winners and Team Trophies will go to each member of the winning country. The Champion will have his or her name permanently inscribed on the rotating Othello Trophy, alongside the previous 35 World Othello Champions.
The Welcome Reception will be held at the Eden Oranje Hotel, on Wednesday, November 7th from 19:00 to 22:00. In keeping with tradition, first round pairings will be drawn at the Reception.
Lunch will be served at the Tournament Site for all players, working staff and official guests on Thursday, November 8th, Friday, November 9th, and on Saturday, November 10th for the finalists, working staff and official guests.
