Dear all contact persons for the World Othello Federation members!
Hereby we send you the OB 2/2017. It will include all important information’s
you need for the World Othello Championship 2017, Ghent, Belgium.
We recommend you read the information careful.

World Othello Championship 2017
W.O.C. 2017 website
The site is now online.
The URL is http://woc2017.worldothello.org.
There you will find all important information.
We will update the WOF-site regularly. Therefore it is important to often go there
and check the information!
Today we have added the Registration-page, the Schedule and Venue
information.
We will soon update Othello Weekend and much more!
Please add the WOF-website URL as a link at your federation homepage. Also
send it out to all your Othello-members, newspaper, and all you think should
follow the WOC 2017.
We will later send an WOC 2017 logo you can use at your homepage.

How to register the team to WOC 2017?
You register the national team at the webpage
http://woc2017.worldothello.org/register-woc.
The registration period is 7th June to 31st July.
Only the WOF contact person can register the players.
You need to “sign” every player. Therefore, don’t give this link to anyone else,
please.
When you register a player, you neede to fill in all the asked information at the
registration form. You also need to add a picture of the player.
A player is NOT registered before their name are in the list of registered players.
You will find registered players list here:
http://woc2017.worldothello.org/registered-teams .
It can take up to 7 days before a player is registered.
IF you need to change an already registered player, because of sickness or other
reasons, you register the new player. Then you send an email to
woc2017@worldothello.org and withdrawn the already registered player.
IF you need to withdraw a registered player, send an email to
woc2017@worldothello.org.
If anything is unclear, you need support or have questions, please contact the
woc2017@worldothello.org.

Invitation for VISA
If players in your team need an invitation from WOF for the VISA. Contact us so
fast as possible. We will send invitation for the players who are needing it.
We need the person’s name, birthday, home address and phone number. In
some case we also need the persons passports number and personal ID-number.
Also add if the person is player, crew, or guest.
It is important we early can fix invitations, it seems VISA asking’s can take long
time nowadays!

The venue for the WOC 2017 is Ghent Meeting Center. Akkerhage 2, Ghent,
Belgium

Book hotel rooms at GMC
It will be rooms at the Ghent Meeting Center for a special price.
30 rooms for the night of 30/10, 31/10, 1/11, 2/11, 3/11, 4/11 & 5/11.
Rate: 89 euro per room, breakfast included. You also need to include “Ghent
city-tax” = 3 euros per person, per night.
Participants will book and pay their own room. Booking possible from 7/06/2017
until 30/09/2017.
The link for booking will be sent to you in the beginning of next week.
Cheap staying in Ghent
We have booked a hostel i central Ghent. We have gotten a good price and can
offer you a nice living in a cosy ecologic hostel.
We have booked two rooms with 14 beds. One room have 6 beds and the other 8
beds. 25€ person/night. Cozy place, good breakfast included. If you feel for
sharing rooms with other Othello-players, this hostel is a great option!
We have also booked two double room, 70 euro/room, breakfast included.

Othello Weekend 4th & 5th
The days after the Othello Weekend, 4th and 5th November, WOF, together with
the Belgian Othello Association, will arrange some days with a lot of Othello
events. Those events will be open for everyone! WOC-players, crews, players,
and Othello enthusiasts. All is welcome!
It is planned to be some open “World Champions” tournaments in Othello
variations. Also, other Othello related events and open tourneys will be arranged.
We have not full schedule yet. It will be come later.
Please already book the days 4th and 5th November, and show them for the team
players from your country! They are very welcome!
Schedule, more information’s and how to register will be sent out hopefully latest
21st July!

We really hope so many as possible wish to stay and play more Othello and be a
part of the Othello Weekend!

Reminder!
We sent out an email with information’s. We also asked each federation to send
their updated member information’s. It is still many who not have answered the
emails. Please answer them latest 10th June!

In late June we will (hopefully) make the new World Othello Federation web-
site online! Therefor it is important that we get all updated information from

you!

WOF Annual Meeting 2017
The annual WOF meeting will be held 3rd November 2017, Ghent, Belgium.
Invitations and meeting schedule will be sent out to all federations latest 1
st

October.
All WOF members can send asking’s and “questions for discussions”. The WOF
Office need those latest September 15th
.

We will the coming week send out emails to you with important informations!
Instead to send out all information in one document, we prefer send it out in
shorter emails. Please check your emails. Many of the emails will be about the
future of Othello, and will be followed with asking’s to you and your federation.
We are now in a very interesting time for Othello. It happens a lot! And we need
your support and help!
