Mongolia’s Top Othello Players Launch a Club for Children
A remarkable initiative aimed at enhancing the intellectual development of children in Orkhon Province became a reality on January 25, 2025. We are excited to announce the official establishment of the “Thinkers Arena” Othello Club, founded by two of Mongolia’s top-ranked young Othello players, Ankhbayar Ganzes and Narantuya Erdenebat.
Narantuya, a 12th-grade student from Orkhon Province’s 4th Secondary School (class 12E), and Ankhbayar, a 10th-grade student from the same school (class 10G), are currently leading the national Othello rankings for female and male players, respectively. They are also certified instructors, officially recognized by the Mongolian Othello Federation, and serve as inspiring leaders in promoting mind sports across the country.
Right after its founding, the club successfully introduced Othello and conducted beginner-level training for nearly 300 students from various general education schools in Orkhon Province, sparking a strong interest in intellectual games among children.
“Thinkers Arena” is more than just a place to learn the rules of Othello — it fosters an environment where children can develop critical thinking, decision-making, fair competition, and positive communication skills, all of which are essential for a successful and thoughtful life.
This is a truly valuable example of youth taking initiative and becoming role models for their peers.
